When I was 21 years old, I was fascinated by business and finance, but I didn't know what direction to go in. I started in two directions almost simultaneously: Stock brokerage and real estate. In the stock market, I threw myself into learning everything that I could and acquiring every license that I could talk my company into sponsoring me for. After 13 years in stock brokerage, I had been a broker, started two divisions, worked on numerous corporate stock plans, helped companies through Initial Public Offerings, and then I worked to take a company public on the NYSE.! This was my highest goal for the industry, but the moment I achieved it I felt empty, there was no next rung on the ladder. It also took 17 hour days, 7 days a week, and was the toughest work environment I had ever experienced, so I quit. Life is too short to spend your life away from those you love just for the satisfaction of knowing that I helped make a number of millionaires and one billionaire. Real estate on the other hand took a while as it offered me too much freedom for my own good and I didn't know how to think like a business owner. I knew that I loved working alongside people achieving their dreams and get paid to talk to people all day long, but it took the structure of the investment business to get my head in the right place. I did real estate the entire time I was a stockbroker/Stock Plan Administrator/Plan Manager and I think I always knew that this was where my heart truly lied. When I had the opportunity to leave and go "All-in" building my own business, I took it and haven't looked back since. After 21 years at this, I still get giddy when we get to the settlement table and finalize everything that we have been striving for. I am humbled that friends, family, and even strangers trust me to guide them with the biggest investment/life goal for most people. I believe that my finance background makes me uniquely qualified to help with the long-term financial impact of buying real estate. It's both your home and biggest investment. I now run the Shamrock Group which allows me to train, support, and work with some of the best people I know. It gives us the ability to help more people experience what buying or selling a home should be like. Of the many awards that we/I have received, nothing compares to making a life-long friend out of a client and having someone entrust their loved ones to me, knowing that I will treat them with the highest level of diligence and service that I am capable of. I have never sold a home, I have simply guided friends through the process.
